Butler County Airport Authority Information

General

Established in 1949, the Butler County Airport Authority operates the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport. As a Pennsylvania municipal authority, its purpose is to maintain airport facilities and grounds, to apply for and utilize federal and state grants to maintain the airport, to promote the future growth of the airport for the public benefit, to lease facilities, to communicate with officials and with the public regarding the airport, and ensuring performance of the duties outlined in the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Act. Seven volunteer directors, appointed by the elected Butler County Commissioners, serve five year terms and hire employees, including the Airport Manager, to oversee the day to day operations and maintenance of the airport.

The Butler County Airport Authority Board of Directors meets monthly, on the second Thursday, at 5:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Administration Building at 473 Airport Road, Butler, PA
