The Airport & Our Community
Why We Matter to Butler.
Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport is more than a place for takeoffs and landings, we are a hub for connection, enrichment, and local growth. Nestled on over 300 acres in Butler County, our facility welcomes pilots, businesses, students, and neighbors alike.
We believe in:
- Fostering aviation awareness and passion across generations
- Serving as a bridge between the general public and the aviation world
- Supporting local economic development by linking people, ideas, and opportunity
- Being a steward of the land and a good neighbor to surrounding communities
Through open events, educational partnerships, and direct engagement, we aim to make aviation accessible and beneficial to all.
Educational Outreach
We are excited about aviation and part of our mission is to promote the airport and attract aviation businesses and enthusiasts. Occasionally the airport authority hosts opportunities for groups to tour the airport or to learn up close aircraft, the basis of flight, and the aviation industry. Please contact the airport office if you or your group has a particular interest in instruction, information, or joining a tour at the airport.
Open to the Public
Don't wait for scheduled events to come see us! The Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport is open to the public and you are welcome any day, any time. Park at the administration building parking lot and sit in your car or stretch out on the grass to plane spot from outside the fence.
Great Food on the Runway
Serventi’s on the Runway, located on the second floor of the administration building, offers diners sweeping views of the runway and airfield, along with an outdoor deck where guests can enjoy the breeze and the sights and sounds of aircraft in flight during the warmer months.
Come Sightsee Today
With over 90,000 flight operations per year, there is almost always something to watch. Our best days for sightseeing are sunny with calm winds. A perfect visit for plane lovers and our young future pilots.
Scholarship Opportunities
Applications for the $2500 Future of Flight Scholarships and the $5000 David C Howard Passion for Flying Award, both of which support pilot trainee students at a flight school based at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, may next be available here in November 2026.
